Carl B. Zacharia
Founding Partner
Biography
Carl B. Zacharia is a founding partner of Zacharia Frey PLLC and brings more than three decades of estate planning and elder law experience to the firm. A native of Pittsburgh, Carl has been licensed to practice law in Florida since 1994 and is also licensed in Pennsylvania.
Before founding Zacharia Frey PLLC, Carl built his reputation through Zacharia Brown & Bratkovich, a well-regarded Western Pennsylvania estate planning and elder law firm where he remains Of Counsel today. He continues to serve clients with Florida ties or Florida planning needs across both states, providing seamless cross-jurisdictional service that few firms can offer.
Carl's practice focuses on comprehensive estate planning, revocable and irrevocable trusts, Florida Medicaid planning, asset protection, guardianships, and probate avoidance. Over the course of his career he has personally handled or supervised more than 7,000 Medicaid applications, giving him an unusually deep practical understanding of how Florida's elder law system actually works.
Carl is also the founder of MyLifeFolio, a secure digital platform that helps families organize and document every dimension of their lives — from financial accounts and legal documents to medical information and personal video legacies — so loved ones can find what they need in a moment of crisis.
Beyond his legal work, Carl is known for his hands-on, family-focused approach. He believes that estate planning is fundamentally about people, not paperwork — and that every plan should reflect the values, relationships, and goals of the family it's built to protect.
